When does the beta open?

We open invites in waves once voice quality holds up under real load. We are not going to name a date we cannot keep, but everyone on the list gets messaged before it goes public.

Will it cost anything?

Waypoints is free, and the core chat, voice and screen share stay free. Later on we may sell optional extras for people who want to support the project. Nothing that already works today moves behind a paywall.

Which platforms will it run on?

Accepted Answer

Windows, macOS and Linux at launch, as a native desktop app. A browser version comes after the desktop client is stable.

Why build another chat app?

Accepted Answer

The apps our group relied on became unreliable in Brazil because of network-level blocks. We wanted something we control end to end, running on infrastructure we own.

What do you do with my details?

Accepted Answer

We store your name, email and WhatsApp only to send your invite. We do not sell them, share them, or add you to a marketing list. That will not change.
